Purpose: The International Tree Climbing Competition (ITCC) is a standing committee of the ISA. The Local Arrangement Coordinator is the key contact for this committee for the competition being held during the conference. This person should be familiar with the park selected for the competition.
 
Duties of the ITCC Coordinator:
  • Assist the ITCC Coordinator and Local Field Day Sub Committee with the selection of an appropriate field day and competition site. (finalize minimum of 1 year prior to event)
  • Arrange for the necessary preliminary pruning to competition trees to make them safe for climbers and spectators. (approximately 6 months prior to competition)
  • Assist International Chair with site set-up and breakdown of events. (2 days prior to event/last day of event)
  • Recruit local volunteers to help officiate the event, with the assistance of the ITCC Chair. (at least 6 months prior to event)
  • Assist ITCC Chair and ISA staff with obtaining any additional equipment or supplies needed for the competition. (possibly as far out as 2 months prior to competition)
  • Coordinate and manage assigned event volunteers as needed, communicate with Volunteer Coordinator regarding event staffing needs.
 
Duties of Onsite Volunteers:
  • Report to Local ITCC Coordinator
  • Help place any signage throughout the park
  • Pick up trash and have a designated location on where it is suppose to go when bags are full. Will work with Field Day volunteers.
  • Deliver water/food from the ITCC Trailer to the events.
  • Deliver any ITCC gear/equipment to and from the ITC Trailer to the events.
  • Two volunteers are needed at the trailer at all times. They will sit under the ITCC Tent and hand out information to the general public and answer any questions. ISA staff will be there to inform them of what materials need to be handed out as well as brief them with the answers to the questions they will be getting.
